In this body of work titled "ROOTS", I seek to establish a link between the landscape’s physical reality and what becomes imagined by its viewer. In a fervent exploration of my Taiwanese heritage and family's aboriginal roots, I investigate the dynamics of the Taiwanese landscape through a manipulation of perception; expressed through suggested light and vibrant color. Rather than presenting a factual reality, I create an illusion fabricated in order to conjure surreal dimensions of the tropical landscape. By challenging the division between the realm of memory and the realm of experience, I work towards creating visually striking moments based on my own collected images, creating a personal follow-up and transcending memory.
